Where Can Dogs Go In Santa Fe

Santa Fe offers a variety of dog-friendly parks where you and your four-legged friend can enjoy the outdoors together.  Of course, you can take your furry friend on hikes with you, but they will required to be leashed. If they desire to roam freely, however, here are lists of parks where dogs can run unfettered.

1. Frank S. Ortiz Park | 160 Camino de las Crucitas

Frank S. Ortiz Park is 138 acres of dog fun. In addition to expansive arroyos and hills for exploration, there are off-leash areas where dogs can wander freely and talk to each other without you listening in.

2) Santa Fe Humane Society Dog Park | 100 Caja del Rio

This complex provides several different fenced-in areas and runs for dogs. There is a seven-acre community space for dogs and their people to hang out. Three smaller dog parks can be used by individual dogs who might not be ready to mingle. And finally, there is an area for smaller dogs who might feel a little intimidated by the big guys. If you are inspired by all this good clean dog fun, you can wander up to the humane society and ask about adoption.

3) Fort Marcy Dog Park

There is a special fenced-in area for small dogs in the Fort Marcy area. Bigger pooches need to stay on leashes.

4)  Salvador Perez Park | 601 Alta Vista

Commonly known as the train park, Salvador Perez has a special space for canines by the pool.

5) Villa Linda Dog Park | Wagon Wheel Road

Right by the Santa Fe Mall is the Villa Linda Park, which has a half-acre dog run. So shop, then play with the pooch.
